Fiorentina have set up a meeting with Moise Kean’s agent this week to offer a new contract almost doubling his current salary and changing the release clause.

The striker had kept his club on tenterhooks during the last couple of weeks, as this was the period when the release clause was active for just €52m.

However, the only sides prepared to activate it were Al-Qadsiah and Al-Hilal, who Kean refused to even discuss personal terms with, as he is not interested in moving to the Saudi Pro League at this time in his career.

Kean eager to continue with Fiorentina

That clause has now expired and Sky Sport Italia report Fiorentina will meet agent Alessandro Lucci over the next few days to discuss a new contract.

It would be a vastly improved salary, moving from his current €2.2m per season to €4m per year instead.

Another matter up for debate is the clause, which is unlikely to be removed entirely, but could be raised significantly to reflect his recent form.

The 25-year-old scored 19 goals in 32 Serie A games last season following his transfer from Juventus.
