Fiorentina face a nervous wait over the next fortnight, as Italy international Moise Kean has a release clause in his contract that is valid for a two week period beginning from Tuesday, July 1.
The 25-year-old, who finished as Fiorentina’s leading goalscorer in 2024-25 and the second highest in Serie A with 19, is able to leave his current club after just one season due to a release clause that is valid from today onwards.
The release clause, according to various outlets, stands at €52m and can be activated from July 1 until July 15. The release clause must be paid in full, however, not in instalments.
Interested parties will also have to convince Kean to leave Fiorentina, where he has enjoyed a successful 2024-25 season on a personal level, if a deal is to go through this summer.
Recent reports claim that Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah are prepared to offer Kean a lucrative €15m-per-season contract over a three-year period. La Gazzetta dello Sport adds that they will be prepared to match the release clause in Kean’s Fiorentina contract if an agreement on personal terms is found.
Manchester United has also been mentioned as a possible destination for Kean this summer, although Tuesday’s reports claim that he is not currently a priority signing for the sleeping Premier League giants.
