Manchester United legend Roy Keane has warned England coach Gareth Southgate this week.

The former United skipper believes that Southgate cannot rely on Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

While the Reds star excels at club level, he finds the defensive duties he must perform at international level to be challenging.

"You can't play him in there against one of the top teams," said Keane on the Stick to Football podcast.

"One or two of the group matchesbut if you play Trent in there against one of the top nations, the defensive side of the game you're talking about he can't defend!

"I'd still be worried even as a two [alongside Rice], against the really top teams, France or Germany in the knockout games. If you're playing Trent in there defensively, he can't defend, likereally bad."
