Kevin De Bruyne provides an update his injury status after yesterday’s win over Tottenham
Yukihito Taguchi-USA TODAY Sports

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has provided an update on his injury status following City’s 2-nil win over Tottenham last night. City’s inspirational midfielder had to be substituted in the 69th minute of his team’s win. De Bruyne was on the receiving end of a nasty looking challenge from Tottenham midfield Pape Sarr. But he has moved quickly to play down concerns of the injury he sustained.

Speaking with SkySports , Kevin De Bruyne explained that he is feeling alright. Speaking with SkySports, he said: “I think I’m alright. It’s a bit sore. In that moment, it felt a little bit like a knife going down my leg. But it’s an impact injury, so it’s not bad, not bad. We will be alright.”

Pep Guardiola will be hoping to be able to call on the services of his star midfielder against West Ham on Sunday. While he wasn’t at his best last night at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he did provide the assist for Erling Haaland to open the scoring during last night’s crucial win for the world champions. Given what’s at stake for Manchester City on Sunday, it will be a massive boost for the treble winners if Kevin De Bruyne is fit for Sunday’s match at the Etihad Stadium.

A further update on Kevin De Bruyne’s condition is expected when Pep Guardiola faces the media on Friday.
