Fabrizio Romano reported late Monday night that negotiations between Tottenham and Genoa for Romanian defender Radu Drăgușin were reaching a “key 24 hours.” Bayern Munich have inserted themselves into the mix, but Postecoglou’s side remains in pole position to land the youngster.

Romano stated that “Spurs want to close the deal as soon as possible.”  for the 21-year-old. It is unclear whether the former Juventus player will find immediate playing time at Tottenham. The move, which strengthens Postecoglou’s back line, is also being targeted with the future in mind.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Tottenham’s “official offer” to Genoa for Drăgușin. He noted that with add-ons Spurs were sending the Italian outfit almost £26 million for their young defender. The Italian also mentioned of Bayern’s pursuit of the youngster, but the German club are yet to make a bid.

The report from Di Marzio suggests that Tottenham could be willing to pay more for Drăgușin. First bids are not always as high as clubs are willing to go, and the Lilywhites could be trying to nab the 21-year-old for a bargain price. If Postecoglou can gain the Romanian’s services, the North London outfit will secure a player with “the potential to become a generational talent.”
