Manchester United have continued to monitor young talent from across the football world as the club looks to strengthen its squad for the future.

The goalkeeper department has become an area of focus for recruitment, with the club previously showing a willingness to invest in promising players who can develop over time.

United’s scouting network has been active across different leagues, searching for players who can potentially become long-term options at Old Trafford.

The club have already made moves to bring in emerging goalkeeping talent, while their recruitment team continues assessing options beyond the first-team picture.

Another young goalkeeper now appears to have caught the attention of the Red Devils after an impressive breakthrough season.

Swansea City goalkeeper joins Manchester United

Swansea City goalkeeper Kit Margetson has left the Championship club and is heading towards a move to Manchester United, according to Swansea City fan page Only Swans on X.

The 19-year-old attracted United’s attention after a strong loan spell with Connah’s Quay Nomads, where the club’s scouting department followed his progress closely.

United goalkeeping scout Tony Coton was reportedly present during Connah’s Quay’s match against The New Saints in March, with the intention of watching Kit Margetson.

Coton, who was also influential in United’s pursuit of goalkeeper Senne Lammens, was spotted at the fixture, with former Wales international Malcolm Allen confirming the reason behind his attendance.

Speaking during Scorio’s coverage, Allen said, “I’m going to tell you the truth, he told me he’s watching Kit [Margetson].”

Margetson, the son of Wales national team goalkeeping coach Martyn Margetson, enjoyed a breakthrough season while gaining valuable senior experience away from Swansea.

During his loan spell, he made 34 appearances, kept 10 clean sheets and helped Connah’s Quay qualify for the UEFA Conference League after missing out the previous season.

His performances also earned international recognition, with the goalkeeper becoming one of the few players to represent Wales while playing in the Cymru Premier after featuring for the Under-21 side in a 2-0 win over Belarus in March.

United could look to send Margetson out on loan to a National League club next, allowing him to continue his development with regular first-team football.

If the move is completed, the teenager would become another young prospect entering United’s pathway as the club continues planning for the next generation.
