One thing that Liverpool fans will hate to hear is the potential of Virgil van Dijk being injured again.

Unfortunately, that was something we heard a lot after Van Dijk hobbled off against Turkey in an international game for the Netherlands.

Netherlands were 6-0 up against 10-men Turkey, but in the 90th minute, Turkey pulled a goal back and in the build-up van Dijk was injured and ended up leaving the pitch before the final whistle.

After this happened, Liverpool twitter went into meltdown, thinking of the worst outcome possible.

Fortunately, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he has spoken to van Dijk and it seems like he is fully fit and just a niggle.

"I sent him a message after the game, ‘Are you alright?’ ‘Come on, send me a video of you without limping.’ So he called me and said, ‘Boss, I’m fine!’" said Klopp.

“So, yeah, that was a bit of a tricky moment but apart from that, no, all fine [for the other international players].”

This is great news for Liverpool fans as we saw what happened to us after Virgil missed the majority of last season with an injury.

This wasn't the only time van Dijk got an injury scare during this international break.

In the Netherlands first game against Norway, van Dijk came up against Erling Haaland, who had previously said that he is the 'best defender in the world'.

Haaland and Virgil had a little squabble during the game which ended up in the Liverpool centre-back dislocating his finger.

Luckily there seems to be no long-term effects from this and it's just something that the big man can grin and bear through.

Hopefully the big man is fully fit and ready to play a determined Leeds side at Elland Road this weekend!
