Manchester United have a good chance to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
Back to back wins against Manchester City and Arsenal have seen United climb up to fourth place, after Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Burnley and 3-2 loss to AFC Bournemouth.
After the disaster of last season’s 15th place Premier League finish and how poor November and December had been for United under head coach Ruben Amorim, this would be tremendous progress.
With Liverpool’s poor form, Chelsea’s inconsistencies and the inexperience of Brentford and Fulham, there is a path towards a return to Europe’s elite club competition.
One factor that will go in United’s favour, will be the lack of congested fixtures.
As a result of their Europa League Final defeat and aforementioned 15th place finish in the Premier League, United have no European football this season.
Add in the exits at the first time of asking in the League Cup to Grimsby Town and FA Cup to Brighton and Hove Albion, this meant that United have their lowest total of fixtures since their 1914/15 season.
As a result, United are looking to make up for their lost income from a lack of European fixtures with The Red Devils now set for a fixture abroad.
Taking to X, ATV Sports have reported that Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef, the President of the Football Association has announced that Manchester United will play in Kuwait in February.
The rumours were prevalent about a potential fixture in Saudi Arabia earlier this month, and this has now been confirmed.
It’s understood the game, set for new smoth will see United take on Inter Miami, the club owned by club legend Sir David Beckham, currently boasting Lionel Messi in their ranks.
Initially discussions were had around taking part in the Riyadh Season Cup, a tournament with Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal, however that seems to have not materialised.
The news comes after Kuwait hosted the French Super Cup between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille.
