Kvernadze targeted by Roma after earning Kvaratskhelia comparisons

Roma have reportedly set their sights on Frosinone and Georgia international Giorgi Kvernadze, who has been tipped as the new Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The 23-year-old can play on the left or right wing, as well in a more central role, and was one of the key figures behind their promotion from Serie B last season.

He has been on fire so far this term too, scoring five goals and providing two assists in six games between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Kvernadze impressed for Frosinone

Purchased from Kolkheti Poti in Georgia in 2023 for just €900,000, Kvernadze has seen his value go through the roof on the transfer market, earning comparisons with his compatriot and former Napoli star Kvaratskhelia.

According to Retesport, Roma are already making preparations to target the player for the future, believing they have a secret weapon that gives them an advantage.

This is because Alessandro Frara worked at Frosinone until this summer and is now part of director Tony D’Amico’s staff at Roma, so he already knows Kvernadze well.

Coach Gian Piero Gasperini’s playing style is also very suited to the Georgian, enough that the Giallorossi could make a bid in the January window.
