Kylian Mbappe lauds 'smart' decision from 'very talented' Tottenham signing

Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappé has heaped praise on the Tottenham Hotspur signing Xavi Simons.

Mbappé knows the Netherlands International from their time together at PSG, and he has now praised the 22-year-old for his smart transfer decisions in the past.

The French International also believes that he is a very talented player who is likely to succeed in the Premier League. So far, the transfer has not gone according to plan for Tottenham or Simons. However, there is no doubt that he is a talented young player with a bright future. He should be able to bounce back strongly and fulfil his potential in England.

“Yes, he’s a very talented young player,” he said to Marca (h/t SportWitness).

“He made a smart decision going to PSV Eindhoven to get playing time. When you’re young at a big club, it’s not easy because everyone wants to play. Then he went to Leipzig, where he played very well.

“Now he’s at Tottenham, and I hope he continues to develop and achieves everything he wants. I wish him the best of luck.”

Can Simons get his career back on track?

The Netherlands International has been criticised heavily for his performances in recent weeks. He will be fully aware of the fact that he has not been able to make the desired impact. His quality is beyond any doubt, and it remains to be seen whether he can work on his physicality.

The 22-year-old is a versatile attacker, capable of slotting into multiple roles. He could prove to be an excellent option for Tottenham in future. His ability to perform at a high level in multiple positions could make him an asset for the club. For now, he should work hard in training and look to regain his confidence and sharpness.
