La Liga ace admits ‘satisfaction’ after links with a ‘big club like Tottenham’

Sevilla defender Loic Bade has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in recent months.

In an interview with Estadio Deportivo, the defender has now revealed that he is satisfied with links to the North London club, and he believes that the interest from a big club suggests that he is on the right path.

He said: “There is a little bit of satisfaction. When a big club like Tottenham are interested, it’s because you do good things. But, on the other hand, there is something that tells you to be calm, you have to work and concentrate on games.”

Tottenham were linked with a number of defenders in recent months and they signed Radu Dragusin during the January transfer window.

It will be interesting to see if they decide to make a move for another defender in the summer.

They have three quality defenders in Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Dragusin right now. They could use another senior central defender to complete the defensive unit for the future.

Bade has been an important player for Sevilla and he could prove to be a solid, long-term acquisition. The 23-year-old certainly has the physicality and defensive quality to thrive in English football, and he would be a very useful option to have.

The player is clearly attracted to the idea of playing for a big club like Tottenham and it remains to be seen whether Spurs are encouraged by his recent comments.

Tottenham have an exciting squad at their disposal, but they need more depth if they want to compete for major trophies. Bade could be a key player for them in the coming seasons if they can help him develop further and fulfil his tremendous potential.
