At just 17, Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal has the world at his feet. Valued at $250m and considered by many to be the best footballer on the planet, Yamal just signed a lucrative new long-term contract.
However, there aren't any photos of Yamal putting pen to paper. Barcelona had to delay the signing photo until July when Yamal could be reunited with the love of his life, Fatima. His paternal grandmother.
Fatima emigrated from Morocco to Barcelona in 1990, bringing her five children with her and when Yamal's parents split up, Fatima played a pivotal role in raising her grandson.
When Yamal later offered to buy her a new home, Fatima declined, choosing instead to remain in Rocafonda, the modest, working-class neighborhood of Mataró, a coastal town just north of Barcelona.
Despite the fame, acclaim and vast fortune that Yamal's on-pitch brilliance has earned him, he remains grounded and humble - a rare thing in the age of Ronaldo, Mbappé and others.
Proud of his roots, Yamal often celebrates his goals by shaping his hands into the numbers 304 — the postal code of Rocafonda.
It's safe to say that Yamal will be making the 304 sign for years to come.
