Lazio have started looking around for a replacement for Daichi Kamada and have identified Feyenoord midfielder Mats Wieffer as an interesting option.

The Biancocelesti had hoped to tie down the Japanese midfielder to a new long-term contract, but they failed to agree terms with the player, who was pushing for a low release clause in the new deal. As such, he’ll leave on a free transfer this summer.

In the meantime, Lazio are working on closing out a deal for Salernitana forward Loum Tchaouna and have also set their sights on Hellas Verona’s Tijjani Noslin, but it’s clear a handful of reinforcements will be needed in the centre of the pitch.

As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio are evaluating a possible move for Feyenoord midfielder Wieffer, who has continued to impress in the Eredivisie over the last couple of years.

The 24-year-old, who is contracted to the Dutch club to June 2027, is valued at around €20 million, but the club’s interest in Gustav Isaksen could help to lower the costs of a deal.
