Lazio will reportedly offload Gustav Isaksen this summer after failing to integrate into Igor Tudor’s tactical system.

The Biancocelesti splashed €12 million to secure the 23-year-old signature from Midtjylland last summer. The winger gradually managed to earn himself an important role in the squad while Maurizio Sarri was still in charge. However, he suddenly became surplus to requirements following Tudor’s appointment in March.

So according to Il Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), the Croatian manager and sporting director Angelo Fabiani have agreed to sell the Dane this summer, identifying him as the right profile to sacrifice in order to raise transfer funds.

The Roman newspaper talks about a compromise between Tudor and Fabiani, with the coach agreeing to put his trust in Nicolo Rovella and Luca Pellegrini as evidenced by their increasing playing time over the past few weeks. Both players are currently on loan from Juventus, with Lazio having the obligation to buy them.

But on the other hand, Tudor has no intention to include Isaksen in his plans for next season. The young winger has been starving for minutes as of late, as he couldn’t fit into the manager’s 3-4-2-1 system.

The Denmark international contributed with three goals and four assists in 40 appearances across all competitions this season. His contract with Lazio is valid until June 2028.
