Lazio confirm they have made Nuno Tavares’ loan move from Arsenal permanent.
Lazio have signed Nuno Tavares from Arsenal on a permanent deal, with the Portuguese left-back signing a contract until June 30, 2029.
Lazio confirmed the deal with the Gunners through a statement on their official website.
Tavares, 25, joined Lazio on an initial loan deal from the Gunners last summer and convinced the Rome-based side to make his move permanent with nine assists in 30 appearances across all competitions in 2024-25.
According to Goal.com, Nuno Tavares’ permanent transfer is expected to cost Lazio €5m, with Arsenal retaining a percentage of any future sale.
Tavares was technically under contract with the North London club but hadn’t played for the Gunners since 2021-22.
The Portuguese scored one goal and provided two assists in 28 appearances with Arsenal.
He has also played for Marseille, Benfica and Nottingham Forest.
Tavares will find a new coach at Lazio in the 2025-26 season, as Maurizio Sarri has returned to the club, while Torino have hired Marco Baroni.
