Lazio transfer news: Sarri wants Insigne reunion whilst Fabiani pushes Noslin project

Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri and sporting director Angelo Fabiani appear to be at odds over the club’s transfer priorities ahead of the January window.

According to La Lazio Siamo Noi , Sarri has asked for the return of Lorenzo Insigne, his former Napoli talisman, who is eager to come back to Italy after three difficult years at Toronto FC.

The 33-year-old winger, now a free agent, has already turned down other offers as he waits for Lazio’s decision.

The Italian coach believes Insigne’s creativity and experience could help revitalise a side that has struggled for consistency this season. The pair have reportedly spoken several times by phone and Sarri is convinced the veteran forward still has the quality to make a difference in Serie A.

However, Fabiani is taking a different stance.

The sporting director wants to stick with the club’s youth-focused project and is pushing to give more opportunities to Noslin, the 26-year-old attacker signed last year from Verona.

His lively cameo against Torino, including winning a late penalty, reinforced Fabiani’s belief that Noslin deserves a larger role in the rotation.

While the future of Lazio’s market restrictions will be clarified only in November, Insigne’s potential arrival before January remains possible given his free-agent status.

A tug-of-war is now brewing behind the scenes: Sarri sees Insigne as the key to reigniting Lazio’s attack, while Fabiani wants to trust the next generation. The club’s January strategy may depend on which vision prevails.
