Tottenham Hotspur fans might be forgiven for forgetting that Manor Solomon was still contracted to the club. The forgotten Israeli winger somehow is still in the books of Spurs, although that might not be the case for long.

The entire transfer saga of Solomon arriving at the N17 was very weird and dramatic. He hardly got a chance during his time in North London and was shipped out to Leeds United in the Championship last season.

Solomon had a very good impact at Elland Road for Daniel Farke’s side, helping them in their promotion push. The Yorkshire-based club are now back in the Premier League and continue to be interested in the 26-year-old.

Leeds remain keen to sign Solomon from Tottenham

As per a report from Team Talk, Leeds have been keen to sign Manor Solomon from Tottenham Hotspur ever since their promotion was confirmed but it was the player who wanted to try and convince new manager Thomas Frank of a role in North London.

However, that seems unlikely to be the case with Frank deciding that he will not be counting on Solomon in the upcoming season. This has prompted Tottenham to lower their asking price to help him find a new club. Here is what journalist Graeme Bailey had to say:

“They (Spurs) were willing to let him fight for his place, but I think it’s going to soon become apparent to Solomon that he’s not really a part of Tottenham’s plans. He would cost probably a bit less than £20m.”

Solomon was particularly impressive for Leeds during the run-in last season. He stepped up with crucial performances as Farke’s side managed to get automatic promotion. If he returns to Elland Road this summer, he is likely to be one of their more important players.

An “excellent player”, says KDB

With the Israel international wanting to try and fight for a place at the N17, Leeds turned their attention to Brazilian wonderkid Igor Paixao, who was also linked to clubs like Barcelona but failed in their pursuit, leaving the spot open for Solomon.

Solomon is definitely a very talented footballer in his own right. You don’t have to take our word for it, as ex-Manchester City superstar Kevin de Bruyne labelled him an “excellent player” during one of their international encounters.

It is just that Tottenham are looking in a different direction at the moment, which renders him without a role in North London. Let’s wait and see if Leeds United use this boost and push to try and sign him in the upcoming days.
