Former Inter Milan owner Massimo Moratti returns to the club’s training ground in Appiano Gentile after ten years of absence.

The 78-year-old has been associated with the club for almost his entire life.

He followed in the footsteps of his father Angelo by leading the club towards great heights.

Moratti owned the club and served as president on several terms before selling the majority of his shares to Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir in November 2013.

The Italian remained at the club as an honorary president before vacating his post in October 2014.

Nevertheless, the former Nerazzurri owner and president remains attached to the cause.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, today will be a special day at Appiano Gentile with Moratti visiting the training ground for the first time in almost ten years.

The legendary patron will also have lunch with Simone Inzaghi and his technical staff as well as the players.

The squad has resumed training on Friday after taking yesterday off following the 4-0 victory over Atalanta on Wednesday.

Former Inter Milan President Massimo Moratti Finally Returns To Appiano Gentile

During his time at the helm, Moratti led the club towards 16 trophies. This includes five Scudetto titles, four Coppa Italia trophies and four Italian Super Cups.

But his most famous achievement remains lifting the Champions League in 2009/10 during the treble-winning campaign.

The club followed up this great feat by clinching the Club World Cup in the ensuing season.

Moratti also won the UEFA Cup during the 1990/91 campaign, with the legendary Giovanni Trapattoni at the helm.
