AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan is set to miss the final game of the season against Salernitana thanks to a finger injury, a report claims.

As has been reporetd by the French newspaper L’Equipe (via Milan News), Maignan may have played his last game of the season as a new finger injury is expected to keep him aout of Saturday’s match against Salernitana.

Maignan has been absent recently due to a muscular injury and he was expected to make his return in time for the clash at San Siro which is the last game of the season for the Rossoneri.

Instead, Marco Sportiello is set to continue between the sticks and Maignan will be watching from the sidelines.

Maignan is set to undergo further tests on his hand today to find out the true extent of his injury, as the French goalkeeper will have Euro 2024 in mind. The final decidison by Didier Deschamps is not going to made until June 7 so Maignan will have two weeks to recover.

The injury will only add to some of the exasperation around Maignan and his injury record this seaosn, which has been extensive for a goalkeeper. Given the transfer speculation around him, it is not implausible that he has played his last game for the club.
