Leroy Sané to Spurs financial details emerge
picture alliance

Leroy Sané, the 29-year-old winger for Bayern Munich, is yet again one of the most talked-about names ahead of this summer’s transfer window. With his contract nearing its end, several clubs have shown strong interest, and Tottenham Hotspur stand out as a serious contender in the race for his signature.

Following their Europa League victory, The Boy Hotspur says Tottenham are eager to make a significant move in the transfer market and are seriously considering adding Sané to their squad. Negotiations with his agent, Pini Zahavi, are ongoing, and reports indicate that Sané is considering a return to England to be closer to his family.

Bayern Munich’s current proposal includes a fixed salary of €10 million plus €5.5 million in bonuses. However, as the German club is unwilling to increase these terms, Sané is actively exploring other options. A decision is expected before the Club World Cup on June 10, as Bayern seeks clarity for their squad planning.

Sané’s desire to move to London has also attracted Arsenal and Chelsea. Both clubs are reportedly in talks with the player and his agent. However, Chelsea may face complications due to Sané’s salary demands and the existing squad structure. Arsenal is said to be actively involved in discussions, and Bayern’s reluctance to raise their offer makes a Premier League move increasingly likely.

Additionally, Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly interested in acquiring Sané. His agent, Pini Zahavi has close ties to Barcelona, which could facilitate a move to La Liga. However, Real Madrid would need to offer at least €15 million per year in wages, which could complicate the transfer.

Sané’s transfer situation is expected to become clearer in the coming days. With contract renewal talks with Bayern Munich fading, Premier League interest—especially from Tottenham—could significantly influence his decision.

Our view

This is one of these prospective deals where the financials will probably take all the good out of the deal for the buying club. Look, even Chelsea is thinking twice.

Yes, Spurs need experience, but at what price? If I were looking at Tottenham, right now, I’d be wanting to strengthen other areas than simply pour a ton of cash into Sané’s pockets.

Or would he bring Solanke and Richarlison alive?
