Lewis Hall has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, with the club aiming to sign a left-back before the summer transfer window slams shut at the start of September.

The 21-year-old left-back, of Newcastle United, made 30 appearances in the Premier League last season, scoring one goal whilst providing a single assist.

Hall has appeared in four of Newcastle’s pre-season matches, too, as The Toon prepare for the upcoming campaign.

CentreDevils exclusively revealed earlier this summer that Manchester United had contacted representatives of the 21-year-old to explore the conditions of a possible deal.

Further reports have implied that The Red Devils are ready to pay Newcastle’s asking price for the left-back, although no official move has been made yet.

Newcastle United have now hit Manchester United with a blow in their pursuit of Lewis Hall, hindering the club’s transfer hopes.

Journalist Sam Cohen has stated that Hall has entered new contract discussions with Newcastle with the talks centred around an improved terms.

The journalist has also stated that the 21-year-old has also been offered a role within new manager Matthias Jaissle’s leadership team.

Newcastle United have also told Manchester United that Hall is not for sale, according to the journalist.

United have not just been linked with a move for Lewis Hall in the left-back this summer, with Jorge Salinas also emerging as a possible target.

The Racing Santander full-back, who made his LaLiga debut for the club against Villarreal last weekend, has been subject to links, both to The Red Devils and The Toon.

Racing Club sporting director Chema Aragon also confirmed recently that an offer from a club for the 19-year-old had been rejected, due to it being too low.

With just weeks remaining of the transfer window, Manchester United now face a race to secure the signing of a new left-back.
