Lewis Hall is Manchester United’s top choice to come in as a new left-back this summer.

After several seasons with issues in the role, such as Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia’s year-long injuries,The Red Devils are keen to get a long-term full-back settled into the back four.

CentreDevils revealed recently that United have in fact been in contact with his agency to understand if a move could be on the table.

Now, United have been given hope, as The Sun has revealed that Lewis Hall is keen to leave Newcastle United.

After joining The Magpies in 2024 from Chelsea for £28.5 million, Hall has made 102 appearances, grabbing three goals and seven assists from the left-back position.

However, it looks as though the 21-year-old has played his last game for the side, after falling out with manager Eddie Howe.

The Sun explains that Lewis Hall blames Howe for missing out on a spot in the England squad for the 2026 World Cup.

The 21-year-old was left out of the squad by Thomas Tuchel, which he believes is down to his time on the bench and being played out of position.

Two games before Tuchel announced his 26-man squad, Howe switched Hall over to right-back, having been shifted to the role to cover the injury to teammate Tino Livramento, who has joined the England squad.

Back in April he was also benched against Arsenal and Brighton, and now, sources close to the situation fear a full breakdown in the working relationship between Hall and Howe.

As such, United could capitalise on the tensions in their hopes to sign the talented left-back as a long-term successor for Luke Shaw.
