Rivals Inter Milan and AC Milan are set to do battle for Cagliari goalkeeper Elia Caprile to replace current number ones Yann Sommer and Mike Maignan.

This is as per today’s edition of Italian newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that both clubs are monitoring the goalkeeper.

Caprile, 24, currently plays for Cagliari, after completing a permanent move to the Sardinian side from Napoli this summer.

However, Milan’s top two clubs have begun to circle Caprile, which may bring to an end his spell in Cagliari.

Inter Milan & AC Milan Prepare For Life After Sommer & Maignan

Both Maignan and Sommer are out of contract at the end of this season.

Therefore, the two Milan clubs are actively looking for a new goalkeeper.

They are not the only two clubs keen on Caprile, however.

Torino made a move for the 24-year-old in the summer.

After the Turin side lost Vanja Milinkovic-Savic to Napoli, they turned their attention to Caprile.

However, the Sardinians wanted at least €20 million for Caprile, shortly having arrived permanently from Naples for €8 million.
