Cherki has all but confirmed his exit from the French club as the transfer window approaches. Speaking after Lyon’s win against Angers, Cherki said (via Fabrizio Romano),

The Lyon star is available for £19m, thanks to the release clause in his current contract. It goes without saying that signing Rayan Cherki would be the bargain of the summer. The 21-year-old would be an ideal fit for Tottenham as well. Rayan Cherki tends to thrive in tight spaces and he can either play as a number ten, or a wide player. The Lyon star has a brilliant passing range and prefers to tee up other players in the team by creating space for them. However, Cherki is not a powerhouse and does not tend to run continuously. Therefore, he might struggle to play in a high-pressing team.
