Lionel Messi's used tissue from Barcelona farewell press conference listed for $1 million

A tissue Lionel Messi allegedly used during his farewell press conference with Barcelona is being auctioned off for a large amount of money.

The tissue was listed on the international e-commerce platform Meikeduo for $1 million, according to TMZ Sports. The seller claims the price is so high because the tissue contains Messi's "genetic material," which could be used to clone him.

Messi left Barcelona earlier this month due to financial complications at the club. Barca president Joan Laporta recently revealed the LaLiga giants are €1.35 billion in debt. He blamed the issue on former president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who stepped down last year.

Messi had been with Barcelona since he was 13 years old, winning 35 titles. He is a four-time Champions League champion, 10-time Spanish League champion, seven-time Copa del Rey champion and eight-time Spanish Super Cup champion.

During his farewell press conference, Messi was in tears, saying he and his family wanted to stay in the Catalan capital "more than anything" despite wanting out last year.

The Argentinian superstar later signed a two-year deal with Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain. He has yet to play for the club, but The Parisians are 2-0-0 this season with wins over Troyes and RC Strasbourg.
