Liverpool was denied a derby-day win against Everton on Saturday after Jordan Henderson's stoppage-time goal was ruled offside against Sadio Mane. Henderson himself even questioned the call on social media following the game. That's not all the Premier League Champions were upset about, though.
Jurgen Klopp's side also was unhappy that no action was taken against Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who challenged Virgil van Dijk in the opening minutes, which resulted in a trip to the hospital for the Liverpool defender.
Liverpool reportedly asked the Premier League to investigate why Pickford's tackle was not looked at by VAR official David Coote. They also asked the PL to explain how Mane was determined to be offside on the disallowed Henderson goal, according to Joe Shread of Sky Sports.
Klopp was livid after the game, saying he doesn't understand why they whistled offside. However, he also revealed he's in support of VAR despite it working against his club on Saturday.
Liverpool are now 3-1-1 on the season, good enough for second in the Premier League standings. Everton, meanwhile, remain atop the league standings with a 4-1-0 record.
