Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk feels that PSG aren’t favourites against Inter Milan in the Champions League final.

The Dutchman spoke to French outlet L’Equipe, via FCInterNews. He stated that he “knows” the Nerazzurri and believes they will give formidable competition to the Parisians.

Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan will contest the Champions League final in a little under a week.

Inter booked their place in the final with a memorable knockout run which saw them eliminate Feyenoord, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona.

Meanwhile, PSG dispatched Premier League sides Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal.

There are few doubts that Inter and PSG have been two of the absolutely outstanding sides in the competition this season.

Inter Milan also had a very strong league phase. They picked up notable wins against teams such as Arsenal and RB Leipzig.

Meanwhile, PSG had a rocky start to the league phase. However, they came roaring back in their last few matches, including a memorable 4-2 comeback win over Manchester City.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk was asked if he feels PSG are favourites. “I don’t think so,” he replied.

“I played against PSG recently,” said the 33-year-old.

“They made a strong impression on me.”

“But as far as Inter, I’ve played against them in the past,” said van Dijk. “And I know two of their players well, my compatriots Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij.”

“Maybe Inter have a little more experience than PSG, as they recently played in a Champions League final,” added the Liverpool captain.
