FC Cincinnati is in the final stages of completing a deal to sign Liverpool youth goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek on loan.
The Athletic reported on Tuesday that the loan deal is nearly finalized and that Cincinnati has the option to purchase Mrozek permanently.
The 22-year-old has not made a first-team appearance for Liverpool since joining the Reds in July 2020. He made 17 appearances for Liverpool’s under-21 team in Premier League 2.
Mrozek appeared in 11 matches last season for Forest Green Rovers of the National League. The National League is the fifth tier of the English league system.
He also made five appearances for Swedish side Brommapojkarna in 2024.
The 6-foot-3 shot stopper’s arrival beefs up Cincinnati’s goalkeeping options.
Roman Celentano enters the 2026 MLS season as Cincinnati’s first-choice keeper. Evan Louro also returns in a backup role. Mrozek’s arrival was necessary as Paul Walters has been loaned to Irish side Bohemians.
Mrozek has been called up to represent Polish youth national teams. He is yet to make an international appearance.
Cincinnati kicks off the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup first round first leg against Dominican Republic club O&M FC on February 18. O&M FC will host the first leg, while Cincinnati will be home in the second leg on February 25 at TQL Stadium.
The Orange and Blue open the new MLS season at home on February 21 against Atlanta United.
