Liverpool will aim to entertain the Anfield crowd with an exciting performance in their next Premier League clash against former title rivals Arsenal on Sunday, 11 May 2025. The Gunners had competed with Arne Slot’s side for the Premier League title for the majority of the 2024/25 season before the Reds were able to secure the title. Liverpool’s players will now look to rub it in the Gunners by dealing them a decisive blow and also get themselves back to winning ways. Here is our Liverpool predicted lineup.
Arne Slot has earned the right to rotate his players around for the final matches of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign as the title is already in the bag. That allowed him to change things up in Liverpool’s backline in the recent 3-1 loss to Chelsea, with Jarrel Quansah being paired up with Virgil van Dijk and Kostas Tsimikas also getting some more playing time. Trent Alexander-Arnold recently confirmed his intention of leaving Anfield at the end of the season, and that could result in him being benched against Arsenal by Conor Bradley.
Slot has also been able to give Wataru Endo some playing time ahead of the consistent Ryan Gravenberch, but Alexis Mac Allister keeps a hold on his spot. Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, and Dominik Szoboszlai are vying for that attacking midfield role. Mohamed Salah’s slot in the right wing is well secured, while Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz seem the first choice for the left wing and centre-forward roles.
Liverpool were undone in their recent trip to Stamford Bridge, as a flurry of silly errors allowed the Blues to secure a decisive 3-1 win over the Premier League champions. That put an end to a three-game winning run for the Reds, as they had defeated Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and West Ham United before the defeat to Chelsea.
He might be making some changes to his lineup in recent matches, but Arne Slot remains adamant at every single Liverpool player following his playing system perfectly. That involves having the defenders being brave and proactive in pressing the opponents and regaining possession in key areas. The midfielders are asked to be smart with the mid-press to get the ball back and then allow the forwards to scurry forwards on the counter-attacks.
Salah, for one, has benefited from not having that much defensive work to do because of the midfielders covering for him. That has helped him excel in the attacking work, allowing him to score 28 goals in the Premier League so far. Gakpo is also a menacing threat with his unpredictable runs through the left, while Diaz does a good job in getting himself into the goal-scoring areas in the central areas. Slot will urge his players to continue playing entertaining, attacking football to put the Gunners under pressure and produce a thrilling display at Anfield.
For Slot, there only remains one absentee for his senior squad. Joe Gomez is still recovering from a hamstring injury and there is a chance that he will be back for the final few games of the 2024/25 season, if able to accelerate his recovery in time.
