Liverpool: Preview of Next 5 Premier League Games

Suffice to say, Liverpool have failed to live up to the lofty standards that they set last season during the current campaign. After they won the Premier League title in 2024/25, they now find themselves 5th in the league table just under a year later.

Not only have Liverpool struggled to find form throughout the season, they have fared little better since the turn of the year – as things stand, the Reds are without a win in their last three Premier League games.

Can Arne Slot turn Liverpool’s fortunes around? Today, we’ll be looking at their next five Premier League games and we’ll give out a preview for each of them.

Fulham (H)

Fulham have given Liverpool nightmares in the past – this game will not serve as a reprieve, as the Cottagers are in decent form at the moment.

However, Marco Silva’s men have struggled when not playing at Craven Cottage this season – as things stand, Fulham are amongst the worst away teams in the division.

As such, Liverpool should be able to take advantage of this. Anfield certainly isn’t as intimidating as it has been in previous seasons, but we’d be surprised to see anything other than a Liverpool win in this one.

Everton (A)

The Merseyside derby could not have come at a worse time for Liverpool. Not only are the Reds out of form, Everton have begun to pick up steam as of late.

The Toffees stunned Chelsea in their last game, overcoming the Blues by a score of 3-0 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Theoretically, the same thing could easily happen to Liverpool – like Chelsea, they have also looked disjointed and unfocused this season. The Reds don’t lose many Merseyside derbies – but this might be one of them.

Crystal Palace (H)

Out of all of Liverpool’s upcoming five Premier League games, this one is probably the most winnable. Crystal Palace’s form has been all over the place during the last few months – they have picked up some good wins, but have generally fallen at the feet of top teams.

Liverpool, for all their failings, have plenty of quality in their squad. Palace struggle against creative midfielders who can open them up – as such, this seems like a game in which Florian Wirtz will be allowed to thrive.

The Eagles tend to defend their box effectively, but their comparative lack of midfield presence should suit Liverpool in this one.

Manchester United (A)

Say what you will – this is still the biggest fixture in English football and one of the biggest games in the world. No matter where Manchester United and Liverpool stand, games between the two will always capture the public’s attention.

Sadly, this could be a tough game for the Reds. They have shown that they can be susceptible to counter-attacks – this has been United’s primary method of attack since Michael Carrick took the reins.

Additionally, United have been difficult to overcome at Old Trafford in recent weeks. A draw seems like the most likely outcome, but Liverpool will need to be on top form if they are to avoid an ignominious derby day defeat.

Chelsea (H)

The Liam Rosenior experiment at Chelsea is swiftly unravelling. As we mentioned previously, the Blues were recently subjected to a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Everton – in that same week, they were also dumped out of the Champions League by PSG.

However, this does give Chelsea a slight advantage – they will not have to worry about the additional fixtures any more, giving them a chance to rest their players. Liverpool, having beaten Galatasaray in the last 16, will not have such a luxury.

This aside, Chelsea have won just one of their last six games. They look like a team in turmoil – if Rosenior cannot turn things around by the time that this fixtures rolls around, we’d bet on a Liverpool win.
