Liverpool ruins potential deal for Man Utd as PL club puts 'unrealistic' £70m price

Bournemouth have priced Antoine Semenyo out of the reach of Manchester United after selling Milos Kerkez to historical arch-rival Liverpool. The Cherries have decided that Kerkez’s sale puts them in a financially healthy position to reject the sales of Semenyo.

United have prioritised the attacking department under Ruben Amorim during the early stages of the summer transfer window. The Red Devils have already signed Wolves’ Matheus Cunha and are closing in on a permanent deal for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.

However, Brentford have rejected their second bid and are demanding a higher valuation after United’s Cunha purchase earlier this summer. While Man United could turn their attention towards Semenyo, they are facing the same predicament over the 25-year-old attacking winger.

According to The I Paper, Bournemouth are planning to outprice Semenyo from United with a price tag of over £70m after selling Kerkez to arch-rivals Liverpool. Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also the two clubs interested in the services of the 25-year-old attacker this summer.

The Cherries are also taking United’s willingness to pay a hefty sum for both Cunha and Mbeumo as another reason. As for Liverpool, the historical arch-rivals have already tormented the United fanbase by levelling their 20th league title last season.

Their indirect influence in the summer transfer window will only alienate the United fanbase, who are desperate to see their club regain their place at the top of the Premier League. However, the biggest problem for United is that other clubs are exploiting them with an astronomical price tag.

The public knowledge of United’s current predicament is not helping the club during this transfer window amid a squad overhaul. The football world knows that Ruben Amorim desires numerous changes in the squad after the current team’s failure last season.

The team that Amorim inherited has failed to adjust to his style of play. Rest assured, Semenyo has the profile that suits Amorim in case the Red Devils fail to sign Mbeumo this summer.
