More details are emerging on the negotiations between Juventus and Liverpool for Federico Chiesa, as some important restrictions are put in place.

Multiple sources in Italy this morning suggested the surprising talks to bring Chiesa back to Turin, just 18 months after he was pushed out of the club.

That was because his contract was running down and Juve refused to maintain the huge salary, especially with his terrible injury record.

He was sold to Liverpool for around €15m, but has struggled for playing time there too and is eager for a return to Serie A so he can win back his place in the Italy squad.

Sky Sport Italia now claim that while there has been an approach from Juventus, it was only for a loan deal with possible option to buy.

This was in turn rejected by Liverpool, who are only prepared to consider a permanent sale for the winger.

That is not just a warning for Juventus, but also any other interested clubs in Italy who were only after a loan, such as Milan, Roma and Napoli.
