Liverpool have been lethal across all competitions this season, exceeding expectations following the sudden departure of Jürgen Klopp. Under Arne Slot’s leadership, the Reds have thrived and established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Their midfield is among the best in the Premier League, with Ryan Gravenberch enjoying a remarkable transformation this season and Alexis Mac Allister delivering consistently outstanding performances.

While Manchester City and Liverpool are fierce rivals, they share several players of the same nationality. Among them, Diogo Jota has revealed a midfielder he would like Liverpool to sign. Speaking to ESPN, Jota was asked which player from a rival club he’d want at Anfield. Without hesitation, he named Bernardo Silva as his choice.

Jota and Silva have played extensively together at the international level, making the connection between the two players even stronger.

Diogo Jota reveals desire for Liverpool to sign Bernardo Silva

Diogo Jota, who joined Liverpool from Wolves in 2020, has been in sensational form for the Reds, now having scored 64 goals since his arrival. He has also performed well on the international stage, earning 46 caps and scoring 14 goals for his country. When asked which player from a rival club he’d like Liverpool to sign, Jota named his Portuguese teammate, Bernardo Silva, praising the £43m midfielder as a clever and outstanding footballer.

Jota expressed his admiration, stating he’d love to see Silva at Anfield, though he acknowledged such a move is unlikely. Liverpool rarely conduct transfers with rival clubs, but Silva has shown respect for the Reds, citing their rivalry over the years as a reason for his admiration.

Although Silva is unlikely to join Liverpool anytime soon, the prospect of such a signing is undeniably exciting.

“For me, it’s Bernardo Silva. He’s very clever and he’s an outstanding player,”

Silva would be a perfect fit for Arne Slot’s high-intensity Liverpool team, seamlessly slotting into any midfield position and excelling in each role at a top level. For now, Jota can still enjoy playing alongside Silva on the international stage with Portugal.
