Poland legend Zbigniew Boniek has admitted he couldn't be more impressed by Liverpool target Kacper Kozlowski claiming he outshone a number of other world class youngsters at a youth tournament a few years back.

The players Boniek claimed were outshone by Kozlowski were Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund, Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich and Harvey Elliott of Liverpool.

Boniek was speaking to Sport PL about how highly he rates the 18 year old who has already represented the Polish national team six times.

Kozlowski Stars At Mermaid Tournament

The retired star who was capped 80 times by his country believes the young Pole outshone his rivals at an elite youth tournament a few years back.

“A few years ago I was at the Mermaid Tournament. Musiala, Elliott, Bellingham and Kozłowski played there.”

“I must say that then Kacper was beyond them.”

Boniek On Kozlowski's Development

Another thing Boniek was very clear about was that a move for the talented youngster would need to be the right one for his development.

“I think if a young player is to go to a foreign club only to play for the U21s, U23s or any other junior team, it would be more useful if he stayed in the Polish league,”

“Senior football is a completely different level, regardless of the league.”

Liverpool Links

The Reds have been linked with the youngster who is being compared to Kevin De Bruyne for some time as reported by us and The Mirror earlier this month.

His club Pogon Szczecin do not appear to be keen to sell the player in January however so it maybe next summer before we see whether Liverpool make their move.
