Manchester United look set for a busy summer of recruitment business as the club aims to improve key areas of the squad ahead of the new season starting later this year.

The Red Devils, who secured Champions League qualification following victory over Liverpool last Sunday, will return to UEFA’s prestigious club competition next season although will be looking for a strong squad to compete in it.

Midfield is set to be a key area for the club with the departure of Casemiro sparking a need for recruitment in the middle of the field.

Kobbie Mainoo’s future at the club is already secure with the academy graduate signing a new contract which will see him stay at Old Trafford until at least 2031.

Carlos Baleba has also been linked with a move with this arguably likely given the club did not make a move for the midfielder during the January transfer window.

Moves for Sandro Tonali and Elliot Anderson may be less likely, however, given the high fees that both clubs (Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest) are demanding.

Now, a new piece of business have taken place but in the forward position with Summer Hadfield confirming on Instagram that she will leave the club after eight years and seven seasons.

In her next chapter, Hadfield confirmed that she will join Liverpool Under-21s although in her farewell post on Instagram, she shed attention on the staff and people that have supported her as she has become a better footballer.

The forward’s next stage will be pre-season with Liverpool’s Under-21s before the new season gets underway later this year.

Summer Hadfield is one of many talents to come out of the Manchester United Women’s Academy with players such as Layla Drury and Mared Griffiths also coming through the system.
