These are the confirmed lineups for Liverpool vs Everton in our first Merseyside derby of the campaign. Both the red and blue sides have experienced strong starts to the league season as the Red sit top on an undefeated run while the Toffees are in sixth, revitalised by the summer additions of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jack Grealish. Attacking firepower meets staunch defence in this one, let’s see how the managers line out.
Alisson starts in goal with a back line of Virgil Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Milos Kerkez, and Conor Bradley. Dominik Szoboszlai is in midfield with Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch. Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Hugo Ekitike round us out.
Jeremie Frimpong drops back out for Bradley to come in allowing for Szoboszlai, Gravenberch, and Mac Allister to form a midfield trio. Florian Wirts is benched as is Alexander Isak who appeared to be hurt in midweek.
Jordan Pickford is in goal with Jake O’Brien, Michael Keane, James Tarkowski, and Vitalii Mykolenko in the back four. Idrissa Gueye partners James Garner in the pivot with Illiman Ndiaye, Jack Grealish, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall behind Beto.
One main change as Mykolenko is fit to start, allowing Garner to move back into defensive midfield to form David Moyes’ preferred pivot. Tim Iroegbunam misses out with the rest of the team staying as is.
