Mohamed Salah has defined an era at Liverpool alongside Jurgen Klopp . The Egyptian winger certainly ranks among the best of the best when it comes to iconic wingers in Premier League history. Even though the club are leading contender to lift the Premier League this season, Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson believes that the club and its fans are in for a heartbreak.
The former Liverpool defender believes that Salah will part ways with the club at the end of the season alongside manager Jurgen Klopp. The latter has already announced his decision to part ways with the club, pointing to fatigue and his inability to keep up with the demands at Anfield. Salah, on the other hand, has yet to make any communication regarding the same, adding to fans’ surprise at the revelation.
Lawrenson said, as reported by 442.com:
100 percent, Mo Salah will leave this summer. No matter what happens this season ; I think there was a deal made last summer. He’ll go play somewhere like Saudi Arabia and he’ll be a king there. Hopefully Liverpool get a massive fee and get a couple of players for it.
Salah was ‘close’ to joining Saudi club Al-Ittihad, but the move fell through as Liverpool turned down a whopping £200 million bid made on deadline day.
Jurgen Klopp recently revealed that his squad to face Brentford will not include Trent Alexander-Arnold. Additionally, the player’s injury also means that the club will be without his services for the Carabao Cup final against Mauricio Pochettino‘s Chelsea. However, with a sigh of relief, fans came to know that Mohamed Salah is back in action for the team and is available for selection against Brentford on Saturday.
The winger picked up an injury during AFCON , which saw him leave the Egypt camp midway through the tournament. The 31-year-old picked up a hamstring injury which saw him return to Liverpool for recovery. This will be his first game back since the 4-2 win against Newcastle United on January 1st. Salah’s return will certainly boost the Reds’ hopes of lifting the Premier League this season.

Either Liverpool or Chelsea will grab their first silverware of the season on the 25th of February. The Carabao Cup final, set to be held at Wembley Stadium, will either see Mauricio Pochettino lift his ‘only’ title of this season or Liverpool give Jurgen Klopp a fitting farewell. The Reds are currently sitting on a two-point-lead in the league. However, Manchester City is right behind and also have a game in hand.
