The business of Tottenham transfer windows is probably discussed at least once a day by most fans, either face-to-face or online. Everybody wants to know who’s the next man through the door will be. Player trading is an actual obsession.
To which end, the subject of Fabio Paratici’s future has been the subject of significant speculation, since his brush with football authorities in Italy, which resulted in a worldwide ban from working in the industry and of course, resulted just recently in a suspended jail sentence.
It now emerges that the transfer ‘Don’ could make a well-received return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, according to TBR.
“Paratici was very close to Daniel Levy, and when he left, he was not thinking that he would still possibly return to Spurs, but the club have reached out to him – they know the players he has brought in, and Vinai Venkatesham recognises that fact, they know he is one of the best in football at what he does.
“But a big part is that Venkatesham and Paratici, during the Levy days, actually get on really well – they respect each other and Venkatesham feels they could work together very successfully.
“Venkatesham is pushing to the Lewis Family that Paratici knows the squad, he knows what the club needs, he isn’t starting with a blank sheet of paper, and that is a huge advantage. So, whilst far from done, it is a possibility now that Venkatesham has made the first move.”
Venkatesham, previously at Arsenal, has been impressed by Paratici’s transfer market expertise, notably his signings like Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, and Destiny Udogie.
Reports indicate Venkatesham has pushed the Lewis family, Tottenham’s owners, to offer Paratici a permanent role, valuing his knowledge of the squad and recruitment skills.
Paratici, who has been a consultant since his 2023 resignation due to a 30-month FIFA ban (lifted in July 2025), is reportedly undecided about returning full-time, especially after Daniel Levy’s departure as chairman in September 2025, as their close alliance was a key factor in his initial agreement to return.
Despite interest from other clubs, including Premier League rivals and Middle Eastern teams, Venkatesham’s advocacy and their mutual respect make Tottenham a likely destination, though no final decision has been confirmed.
