According to Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United have emerged as the favorites to sign Donnarumma. Talks have occurred recently between the goalkeeper’s representatives and the club. As a result, Italian journalist Valentina Clemente believes that moving to England would be ideal for the PSG shot stopper.

“I wouldn’t really understand the choice to go to Galatasaray or Saudi Arabia,” Clemente told Foot Mercato (h/t Le10Sport). “He’s still the goalkeeper for the Italian national team, and given the state of the squad, he needs to be playing in a league that matters—no disrespect to Turkey or Saudi Arabia. If he does have to make a decision, it should be one that improves his situation.

“So, going to England—why not? It could be a valuable experience considering the style of play there. It would be a new challenge. I don’t think he’ll return to Italy (…) But it would make sense, assuming he’s taken a step forward in Paris, for him to go to England. That would be the best move. It depends on what’s available and at what price, because in my opinion, all of this comes down to the tricky balance between sporting and financial factors.”
