Manchester United have reportedly shifted their position on one first-team player under Ruben Amorim, according to reports from Italy.
Ruben Amorim kicked off pre-season last week with Manchester United as the transfer window continued to heat up.
The squad started their tour in Europe with a goalless draw against Leeds United at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm on Saturday afternoon.
The 40-year-old manager took the opportunity to give debuts to new signings Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon during the match.
After facing Leeds, United are heading to the US this week for the next stage of their pre-season preparations.
Amorim is expected to oversee more activity in the transfer market, both bringing in new players and moving on those not in his plans.
Rasmus Hojlund’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain, with the 22-year-old forward linked to a possible exit from Old Trafford during the summer window.
The Denmark international has hinted at staying put, even as clubs like Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma continue to show interest in his services.
However, with United expected to bring in another striker this summer, it’s still not clear where Hojlund fits into Ruben Amorim’s plans for the 2025-26 season.
According to The Peoples Person, earlier reports indicated that United were only willing to let Hojlund leave on a permanent deal. Now things appear to have shifted.
The publication notes that after failing to follow up on initial inquiries for Hojlund, the club’s stance has changed regarding his potential departure.
Reports from Italy now suggest that United would consider selling Hojlund – who is under contract until 2028 – if certain conditions are met.
United have reportedly placed a £38.5m (€45m) price tag on Inter Milan-linked striker Rasmus Hojlund, despite his struggles at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils spent £72m to sign Hojlund from Serie A side Atalanta in 2023 during Erik ten Hag’s time in charge.
Hojlund’s difficulties continued into his second full season at Old Trafford, with the Denmark forward scoring 10 goals in 52 matches across all competitions for United.
According to Corriere dello Sport, United are open to a loan deal for Hojlund as long as a ‘mandatory’ clause is included in the agreement.
The Italian newspaper suggested United want the clause to be triggered if the buying club secures Champions League qualification.
