Manchester United have completed their move for Bryan Mbeumo and are now shifting focus to additional signings ahead of the new season.
The 25-year-old winger joins from Brentford in a deal worth £65m, bringing an end to a transfer saga that had stretched over six weeks. He’s already linked up with the squad, flying out to the US for their pre-season tour.
United are reportedly still in the market for three more players, with Ineos prioritising a goalkeeper, striker and central midfielder.
Their pre-season campaign began with a goalless draw against Leeds United, and head coach Ruben Amorim noted a “lack of pace” in midfield after the match.
Amorim is said to be looking for an “athletic” midfielder to address those concerns, and supporters already have one name in mind as the ideal fit.
So far this summer, Amorim has focused on bringing in players with Premier League experience, looking to add both quality and physical presence to his squad.
That approach isn’t likely to change any time soon. United are still in the market for a midfielder, and fans are urging Ineos to move for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba.
The 21-year-old has looked promising during his time at Brighton, and there’s growing support online for him to join Mbeumo at Old Trafford.

Amorim has faced questions about his 3-4-2-1 formation, and some supporters believe Baleba could be key to making this system work.
Ineos were tracking Baleba in 2023 before his £23m move to Brighton, so a renewed pursuit wouldn’t be out of the question.
His stock has risen significantly since then, thriving under Fabian Hurzeler and becoming a key part of Brighton’s setup.
Reports now suggest his asking price has climbed to £100 million, which would make any deal a real challenge for United.
Ineos have already spent more than £130 million this summer on Matheus Cunha, Mbeumo and Diego Leon, so funds are likely to be tight.
Brighton aren’t under any immediate pressure to sell. Baleba is contracted until 2028 and the club can afford to hold firm on their valuation.
