With Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa gone as their contracts expire, and the future of Mehdi Taremi uncertain, Inter must bolster the attacking depth.
And it has always been clear what the Nerazzurri’s strategy will be. They will focus on a younger attacking signing.
Rasmus Hojlund as emerged as Inter Milan’s main target in attack.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri had eyed up both the Dane and his Manchester United teammate Joshua Zirkzee. However, United want to keep the latter.
Therefore, Inter are now focusing their efforts on signing Hojlund. The Red Devils would certainly be willing to listen to offers for the 22-year-old.
The Gazzetta report that Hojlund himself has already said yes to the idea of joining Inter.
Therefore, it could come down to whether Inter can make inroads in talks with United.
The two clubs are actively negotiating now, reports the Gazzetta. The focus of the negotiations right now is on the structure of a deal.
Inter want to sign Hojlund on an initial loan deal with a purchase option. United, meanwhile, want to sell the Danish international outright.
