Manchester United’s summer sell-off isn’t exactly going according to plan, with their transfer window strategy already starting to unravel.

Before the window opened, Ineos had bold plans to overhaul the squad, with talk that nobody was safe from being moved on.

At the time, Ruben Amorim’s list of untouchable players reportedly included just four names. But as pre-season got underway, it seemed those plans had softened. Most of the squad was back at Carrington when training resumed.

Still, there were notable absentees. Five players were told not to report for team training—a move reminiscent of Chelsea’s approach last summer.

Of that group, only Marcus Rashford has been seen doing individual work at Carrington while he waits for his next move. Now one of the other four appears to have found a new club.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka close to leaving Man United

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is reportedly closing in on a move away from Old Trafford after five years at Manchester United.

The 26-year-old full-back is expected to join Galatasaray in Turkey on a permanent deal this week. The two clubs are said to have agreed on an £8 million fee for Wan-Bissaka, who had just one year left on his contract with United and was not part of their future plans under Amorim.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s sale signals change in approach

This summer could mark a significant shift in how Manchester United handle transfers. In past windows under Erik ten Hag and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, players like Donny van de Beek and Eric Bailly struggled to find new clubs or even loan moves.

But things seem different now. Under Amorim and Ineos, there’s a clear push to move players out earlier and more decisively. Victor Lindelof and Casemiro have already left this window, joining Fenerbahce in Turkey without much fuss or delay.

Jadon Sancho receives Juventus bid Amid ongoing summer exit talk

Of the five players left out, Jadon Sancho has been the one most strongly linked with a move away from Manchester United. The £72 million signing has been in talks with Juventus, though agreeing personal terms remains a sticking point.

Sancho is believed to have turned down wage offers around £180,000 per week and is seeking a £4.3 million payoff from United, according to Tutto Juve.

Gianluca Di Marzio now reports that Juventus have made an official bid for Sancho. The offer is said to be worth £8.6 million upfront, with another £4.3 million in add-ons.

This would mean a huge loss for United, who paid £72 million for Sancho just three years ago—a drop of around 88 per cent on their original investment.

Despite that figure potentially suiting both parties given how well his style might fit in Serie A, there are now suggestions Juventus are also looking at another player at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford on Juventus Radar

While the focus has been on Sancho, Juventus are also reportedly interested in another member of United’s group of exiled players.

The Sun has reported that Juventus have made Rashford their primary target this summer, and there appears to be some momentum behind the move.

The club is said to be keen to bring in the 27-year-old before pre-season begins, though there are some obstacles that could delay things.

Rashford’s preference remains Barcelona. He’s made it clear that he wants a move to Spain, so any approaches from other clubs may have to wait until that option is off the table.

And with reports from Florian Plettenberg suggesting Barcelona have now made Rashford their top priority, everything points towards a move to Camp Nou being the most likely outcome.
