It now appears that Manchester City are wasting no time ahead of the summer transfer window. There is an opportunity for the club to get a head start on its summer business. The June transfer window opens on the 1st of June. It closes on the 10th of June before reopening on the 16th of June. This window allows Manchester City and Chelsea the opportunity to strengthen their squads ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.
It looks like City are wasting no time on this front. The fact that they’ve begun discussions with AC Milan over signing Tijjani Reijnders indicates this. In an ideal world City would get the majority of their transfer business done before the Club World Cup. That way, they can use the tournament as a pre-season of sorts. It seems based on the information provided by Esteemed Kompany sources and David Ornstein’s new report that Manchester City are attempting to do just this in their bid to sign Tijjani Reijnders. Whether or not they can sign him before the Club World Cup remains to be seen.
But it now appears that City are moving quickly to sign Tijjani Reijnders. He is a player they desperately need to bolster their midfield. If they could sign him it would add life and drive to the City midfield. Coupled with Reijnders technical ability these are attributes that Manchester City are screaming out for in midfield.
