Manchester City vs. Exeter City: Temperature, precipitation, and winds

Temperature: Forecasts suggest temperatures in Manchester will range between 2 °C and 4 °C during the afternoon. It will feel even colder with the wind chill, so fans should dress warmly for what’s expected to be a typical mid-January matchday in the North West.

Precipitation: Light rain and sleet are likely throughout the afternoon, with a chance of brief snow showers as temperatures dip. The city will stay damp into the evening, so waterproof clothing is recommended for those heading to the game.

Winds: Storm Goretti will also bring gusty winds to the area. While Manchester isn’t under the most severe warnings, gusts could reach 30–40 mph, especially around kick-off. The conditions may impact play, particularly with long balls and crosses.

Storm Goretti’s impact on FA Cup fixture

Storm Goretti has caused amber and red weather alerts in parts of the UK, bringing heavy rain, snow, and strong winds.

While Manchester isn’t in the worst-hit areas, the city will still feel the effects with cold, wet, and blustery weather expected throughout the afternoon.

Supporters should allow extra time for travel, as conditions could slow journeys to the Etihad. Layered, waterproof clothing is advisable, and the wind chill may make it feel colder than the actual temperature suggests.

Players will also have to contend with swirling winds, which could affect the flow of the game. Fans in attendance can expect some tough circumstances.
