Pep Guardiola informed the media during his pre-game press conference that Bernardo Silva, Kalvin Phillips, Matheus Nunes and Scott Carson are all in doubt for the game due to illness for Manchester City.

There could be some positive news on the injury front for the European champions. Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku returned to training this week and are a chance to take part in tomorrow’s game. Kevin De Bruyne may also return for his first action since Manchester City’s opening day 3-nil win over Burnley at Turf Moor. The Belgian midfielder has trained strongly according to Pep Guardiola and may finally return to the pitch.

For Huddersfield Town, they will head into the game without their top scorer Delano Burgzorg. He has missed their last two games and Huddersfield manager Darren Moore informed the media during his pre-game press conference that he will miss tomorrow’s FA Cup third-round tie due to an ankle injury. Moore told the media: “We expect him out for a little bit of time. What that prognosis of time is at this moment in time has not been diagnosed, but we’ll wait and see what the medical team say.”

Huddersfield will also be without wingback Jaheim Headley. Headley sustained an ankle injury during their New Year’s Day defeat to Leicester City.

The Terriers will welcome back their captain Jonathon Hogg and Ben Jackson after the pair have recovered from illness in time for tomorrow’s game.
