Samantha Madar/USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin / USA TODAY NETWORK

Manchester City’s Portuguese stars all featured prominently for Portugal in their 5-2 friendly win over Sweden overnight. It was a dominant display by one of the favourites for this summer’s European Championships.

City’s Portuguese stars did their bit to help their country to a resounding win. Matheus Nunes was on the scoresheet in the 33rd minute as he added Portugal’s second goal of the evening. He would get through 63 minutes before he was substituted in a quality performance from the midfielder. His goal should see him come back from international duty full of confidence ahead of the final stages of this season.

Bernardo Silva got through a full game for Portugal in their win. He was at his dangerous best throughout the game. It was a Bernardo Silva shot that hit the bar, which allowed Rafael Leao to fire in the rebound for Portugal’s opener. The Manchester City midfielder then turned provider for Matheus Nunes to add Portugal’s second. He got through the entire game for his country and continued his strong form he showed before the international break began.

Ruben Dias also got through a full game for his country. While he was solid at the back City’s defensive leader would have been disappointed to see his country concede twice in their 5-2 win.

Manchester City’s Portuguese stars are next in action for their country in their friendly against Slovenia. Following that, they return to the club to begin preparations for City’s Premier League clash with Arsenal.
