Manchester City's 5-0 thumping of Burnley at the Etihad Stadium on Monday didn't come without a significant casualty.
Striker Sergio Aguero, who suffered a knee knock in the opening half of the match, confirmed on Tuesday he's traveling to Barcelona for further examinations after early scans indicated a serious issue.
The scans I did this morning have confirmed that I have damaged my left knee. It’s a pity but I’m in good spirits and so focused to come back as soon as possible. Thank you very much for all your messages!

The onetime Premier League Golden Boot winner started Tuesday only three tallies behind Jamie Vardy of Leicester City in top-flight goals, but Aguero's pursuit of the English forward may be over.
Per ESPN's Rob Dawson, City manager Pep Guardiola wasn't optimistic about Aguero's health when speaking with reporters on Monday evening.
"We will see," Guardiola said. "He has struggled the last month with a problem in the knee and now he felt something but we will see exactly what he has. It doesn't look good."
Guardiola added Aguero will miss at least a "few games" because of the problem.
Aguero's setback is additional injury to insult for a City side left waiting for Liverpool to clinch the 2019-20 Premier League title, which may happen at the Etihad when the clubs play on July 2. City's finishing spot in the table matters little if the reigning EPL champs remain banned from Champions Football for the subsequent two seasons.
