Manchester United are ready to sell Rasmus Hojlund for a huge loss this summer

The 2024/25 season has been a nightmare for Manchester United. Finishing 15th in the Premier League is embarrassing for any big club, but United compounded this failure when they lost the Europa League final to Tottenham. A complete exit from European football has now become a sign of crisis at Old Trafford. Ruben Amorim was brought in mid-season, but the situation worsened rather than improved. After this painful season, it has now become necessary to rebuild the club.

The club have kicked off the summer transfer window by signing some big names. The arrival of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo is a positive sign that the management is now ready to make concrete decisions. The arrival of young Diogo Leon is a step towards the future, but the fans know where the real void lies. The need for a goal-scoring striker was felt throughout last season. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have repeatedly missed opportunities and let the team down.

The end of Rasmus Hojlund at Old Trafford

Now there are reports that Manchester United have decided to sell Rasmus Hojlund, and that too at a huge loss. According to Jan Aage Fjortoft, the club are ready to let the Danish striker go this summer in order to bring in new attacking options. His performances were lackluster throughout last season. Despite being a presence in the box, the Dane was unable to be decisive. Now the club need a player who can create chances and capitalise on them. We are ready to take a huge loss and sell our flop striker for £30m this summer.

Hojlund’s departure will provide some financial relief to the club and also open the way to sign a new forward. Amorim’s attack will look better if a solid number is added to complement the likes of Cunha and Mbeumo. Now it’s not just about courage; now there is a need for a goal machine who can show the way to a comeback, and the Red Devils are going to take the extra loss to sell the 22-year-old striker.

United need a new number nine who is an upgrade over Hojlund

We think there is nothing more left between Hojlund and United. The hope with which the club signed him has now been shattered. His performance throughout the previous season has been sluggish, unpromising and one-sided. The Dane could not make an impact in the opposition box, nor could he leave a big impact on the scoresheet. At this club, you have to deliver results, and Hojlund has failed in that.

Signed for £72m , Hojlund’s price drop was inevitable given his poor run of form. The club may have to suffer losses, but keeping the out-of-form striker now would be a bigger mistake. Amorim needs a fast, decisive striker who fits into his system. Signings like Cunha and Mbeumo will show results only if there is a player in front of them who can convert them into goals. Hojlund also probably needs a new environment, where he can play without pressure. This break-up has become necessary for both. This decision is absolutely the need of the hour.
