Nearly four months ago, football as we know it was facing unprecedented changes. A breakaway group of clubs around Europe, including the Premier League ‘big six’, had agreed to take part in the European Super League, as opposed to the traditional UEFA Champions League.

The ill-prepared project collapsed less than 48 hours after the official announcement after mass protests in England, with club ownership in the country put under heavy scrutiny ever since.

Manchester United, along with the other five English clubs, were the first to pull out of the farcical tournament but according to new reports, no club has officially withdrawn from partaking in the project.

As relayed by IUS Sport, a court ruling in Madrid has decided against UEFA’s enquiry to annul all acts involving the breakaway Super League.
